Music Collectors Items 2 CD'S Soundscapes
This is a beautiful album of music. It is the first Rhythm Hunters cd and was recorded after Rendra returned from Sumatra in 2004. It features high impact drumming music and a whole host of ambient entho world type tracks including Sumatran songs, taiko, shakuchachi, saluang, talempong and some haunting vocals in the track titled 'Ma Atche'. Soundscapes is a musical journey in itself exploring deep percussive ambience... Live @ Matcham Hall
On this night the central coasts musical community turned out in droves to support local musicians Rendra Freestone and The Rhythm Hunters. The atmosphere was thick with pre-performances from Suara Indonesia and the Rhythm Hut drumming classes. Live at Matcham Hall features some great taiko drumming but also music heavily influenced by The Sumatralia Project. Some of the tracks include Sumatran Horn - Sarunai, Balanese Gongs, Rebana and Rapai as well as insipiring vocal explorations.
