RHYTHM HUNTING
-
Sydney CD Launch
Featuring Rendra Freestone & The Sumatralia Project
The Rhythm Hunters are an Australian world music ensemble. Utilising
the
thunder of taiko (Japanese festival drums) and traditional music
from West
Sumatra, Indonesia, The Rhythm Hunters bring to the stage an
inspired brand
of physical drumming. Dramatic beats are pounded out with striking
visual
intensity on large Australian made wine barrel Taiko. Pacific island
wood
blocks and bronze kettle gongs add a lively and colourful dimension
to the
Zen of taiko.
Rendra Freestone weaves Asian flute music delicately into the
thundering
sound fabric to create music of heaven and earth.
Special
Guest…
Riley
Lee

attain the
rank of Grand Master and also co-founded Australia's leading
drumming group,
Taikoz.
